This is just an all around great little tavern. Surprisingly good selection of Bourbon at reasonable prices. The food is terrific, I stick to the burger but my girlfriend has sampled everything on the menu and never been disappointed and the prices are great. The servers are awesome, the kind that remember you after a couple visits. Even when it is packed we still get great service. If you haven't been you are really missing a Columbus gem.

My boyfriend and I eat here about twice a month and have for the past year. The wait staff is always attentive and quick. Any minor problems we've had have been fixed quickly and with a smile. It's laid-back and casual. Golf attire, jeans and casual wear are the norm. It can be busy at times but usually never more than a 5 minute wait -- turnover is quick. The burgers are our favorite in the city. Tasty, juicy and plump. Tater tots are perfect, the fries are great and the onion rings and fried mushrooms are delish. We also love the coneys on Wednesdays. Great prices for great, basic bar food. Only (minor) complaints are the music is usually too loud to talk, but it is a bar, so... and, the outdoor seating is great but so many people smoke you can't enjoy it for eating at all. Again, it's a bar, so...

Dropped by Johnnie’s Tavern on Trabue Rd, and let me tell you—this spot is a whole vibe. Classic no-frills bar with checkered tablecloths, a laid-back crowd, and friendly staff that make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. I went for the Johnnie’s Burger and it hit the spot—juicy, flavorful, and made fresh. The fried mushrooms and jalapeño poppers were crispy and perfect for sharing. Drink-wise, they’ve got great options: from local beers to buckets of domestics, and their happy hour (3–7pm) keeps your tab nice and light. They even have a few desserts written up on a chalkboard, and the pineapple upside-down cake was the sleeper hit of the day. This is the kind of place where you grab a cold drink, a solid bite, and play a few games on the machine while the game’s on in the background. It’s been around since 1948 and you can feel that old-school charm still alive. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the Columbus area. Follow me for more local food gems — @realriguin

Stopped at this place on my tour of eating all the hamburgers in Hamburger America. Neat place. Opposing on the outside but cozy bar on the inside. Bartender is friendly. Ordered burger with american cheese, bacon, onion and pickles. Burger came out in 5 to 10 min. It was scorching hot off the grill. Tasted good. Thicker patty. This place reminds me of a hipper Buds in colorado.

Nice tavern with a welcoming, laid-back vibe. The food is solid — I really enjoyed the Burger and onion rings and the portions were good for the price. The drink menu has a good mix of beers and cocktails. The service was attentive, though not really the friendliness. (But our Server appeared to be a one man show when we first arrived and was pretty busy. ) Once the place filled up. It got pretty loud, so it’s not the best spot if you’re looking for quiet conversation. Parking is plentiful. Overall, a great local hangout for casual food and drinks — worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I'm sad to say I've lived pretty much next door to Johnnie's for over a decade and never stopped in. Today I stopped with a coworker on a whim and we will most definitely be back. The burger is traditional but delicious, and stands proud on fundamentals. Well made, seasoned patty with the usual toppings available. Next time I'm definitely adding bacon!

Got a burger with Tater tots from Johnnie’s Tavern today. The burger was really good, cooked well, and way bigger than i expected. Very satisfying. The Tater tots were especially solid. They came out fresh, super crispy, and not greasy at all. Definitely worth going back.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The server/bartender seemed to be tackling all of the tables on her own and she still did a wonderful job. We never waited for anything despite her being busy. Got the cheese curds and fried mushroom appetizers to start. They were average. Nothing exceptional, but good. Burger and tots for the main were pretty decent. Ambience was awesome. Overall, a great place to grab some solid bar food and some cold drinks. I would definitely stop by again.
